Kebbi State: Dr Zainab Bagudu Support Cancer Patients With N4,850,000

Medicaid Cancer Foundation  has donated N4.8 million to 15-patients suffering from  Cancer in Kebbi State. 

Cancer, a devastating disease with significant public health implication accounts for about 7 million cases globally with 70% occurring in developing countries. Nigeria has a high prevalence with about 10,000 deaths and 250,000 new cases annually, with the North taking the lead. Her excellency, the wife of Kebbi State Governor and founder of Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF) Dr. Zainab S. Bagudu has been at the forefront in the fight against cancer. The foundation aims at Intensifying efforts to increase awareness, educate on regular screenings and support treatment indigent patients .
 the Medicaid team led by its Chief Coordinating Officer Dr Suraiya Mansur and Director (medical) Dr Aminu Aliyu supported 15 cancer patients with the sum of N4,850,000 for their various treatment regimens. The public presentation to patients fighting breast, cervical and ovariancancer was held at Medicaid Diagnostic Center in Birnin Kebbi. The foundation carried out its major fundraiser in October 2017 and is now disbursing funds raised through the year. Potential beneficiaries are screened and funds go directly to their hospitals.
